Acceptable Use Policy

Anerist grants access to the Internet only to organizations and persons who are willing to agree to these terms and conditions, and are willing and able to be bound by these rules.

Agreeing to the following terms and conditions is a requirement of installation and continuation of services. If Client engages in any activity that Anerist, in its sole discretion, believes violates any of the terms and conditions of this agreement Client's account will be immediately terminated without warning. In the event of a termination because of such a violation, Client shall have no right:

  1. to access any materials stored on Anerist servers or the Internet;
  2. to obtain any credit(s) otherwise due to you, and such credit(s) will be forfeited;
  3. to access third party services, merchandise or information on the Internet through Anerist services.
Anerist shall not be responsible to notify any third-party providers of such services, merchandise or information, nor be responsible for any consequences resulting from lack of notification.

Anerist's services may only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission of any material in violation of International, Federal or State regulation is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: material legally judged to be threatening, obscene, libelous or violates any provision of intellectual-property law including copyright, trade-secret, or patent laws.

Examples of content that is not acceptable on Anerist servers: "Pirated Software" or "Warez", "Hacker programs and/or archives", "IRC Bots", "Copyrighted Mp3's".

Attempts to obtain unauthorized access, such as attempts to circumvent user authentication or security of any host, network or account ("cracking"). This includes accessing data not intended for the Client, logging into a server or account the Client is not expressly authorized to access, or probing the security of other networks.

Attempts to interfere with service to any user, host, or network. This includes "denial of service" attacks, "flooding" of networks, deliberate attempts to overload a service, and attempts to "crash" a host.

Clients are responsible for protecting their own passwords.

Spam
SPAM in any shape or form is NOT permitted and is grounds for immediate account termination. Mailing lists via a mailing list manager are acceptable as long as the list(s) are OPT-IN lists that people have signed up for. Spam complaints from other users will not be tolerated.

Client agrees to reimburse Anerist for any and all expenses incurred by Anerist as a result of a bulk electronic mailing sent by the Client, including but not limited to, legal fees and other expenses arising from the collection of such reimbursement.

IRC and Chat Rooms
Internet Relay Chat (IRC) traffic is not permitted on Anerist's servers in any of its many forms including but not limited to: bots and IRC servers. Chat rooms may be allowed on a per use basis - please ask one of Anerist's support staff before setting one up. (Some cgi/perl based chat rooms overutilize the server processor).
